Kimberly Stevenson-Beck, DVM, DABVP (Canine/Feline Practice)
Chief of Staff
Dr. Beck, our Chief of Staff, has worked at College Park Animal Hospital since 2005. She grew up in Chicago and attended Northwestern University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science. She always knew she wanted to work with animals in some capacity. After volunteering at an animal shelter, working as a zoo keeper and doing wildlife rehabilitation, she was accepted into veterinary school at the University of Illinois. She received her DVM degree in 2004, graduating near the top of her class.
Because she strives to be the best doctor she can possibly be, Dr. Beck pursued board certification to specialize as a veterinary practitioner. In 2012, she was certified as a diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), specializing in Canine and Feline Practice. She was recently Fear Free Certified and has implemented techniques to make veterinary visits less stressful for her patients and their family members. She enjoys difficult dermatology cases, internal medicine and surgery. She especially enjoys working with rescue groups to help get dogs healthy and ready for adoption.
Dr. Beck lives in Silver Spring with her husband, son, and two rescued dogs, Olive and Miles. Olive, a twelve-year-old Tibetan Terrier, enjoys defending the house from the mailman and hiding under the bed. She hates sneezing. Miles, a three-year-old Pomeranian, enjoys defuzzing tennis balls, squeaking toys late at night and barking. He hates Nerf battles. In her free time, Dr. Beck enjoys sewing clothes for herself and son, knitting, doing arts-and-crafts projects with her son and hiking with her family.
